Re the Elmer Cox Bethel-related family-line...

I haven't found anything back further than 'J. B. Cox'... nor do I even yet know what the 'J.B.' stands for.    Once we find some connecting links, this census page from 1850 may be helpful.  See family of Coxes listed.  Similarly this different page.  And another.  And tons more via this page.  And if this becomes helpful, here's a "Cox Bible".

• J.B. Cox (appx 1850) (per LDS records, using Census 1880...  Barren County... the only linkage to a 'John H. Cox' age 3... which puts him at the right age for John Henry Cox, born 1877).   Married to Martha A. Cox, (appx 1853) -- but I could find no other record of a J.B.Cox (or even John B. Cox).  And the only record of a Martha A. Cox... was as she married Charles Cox in 1844).

  • John Henry Cox (1/17/1877 - died 9/2/1953) married Willie May Story  (2/19/1881)... Barren County, KY.

    • Elmer Archie Cox (11/10/1903) married Delma Pauline Bowles[On page 1047 of Jon Huffman's 2-vol work, there's a picture of Pauline as a toddler.] [Dad says grandpa stayed with a Chester Cox (maybe this is him), a relative who had already moved up to the Bethel area.  Chester apparently worked for Charlie James.]  [Here's a couple of stories Mike Halcomb shared with us, one of them re Pauline Bowles Cox. Stray Notes:

• The only connection to this story perhaps is that it's regarding a 'Cox' from Charles County, MD (which appears frequently in the Barren County genealogies).  And it would make an interesting tale, especially if linked to any of the above Coxes.
