    • Thomas Nichols married Lucy McCoy Ranes  (1809 in VA)... on 11/21/1828 in Barren Co., Ky.

Stray Notes:

• Some McCoy death certificates from Barren Co... A number of them contain familiar names... and often have helpful family-line info.   See also the McCoy info contained in our Maggard family history -- it's not 'direct' ancestors, but contains aunts/uncles, etc. from Barren County.
• Another mention of some McCoys from Barren County... not yet directly tied into Lucy McCoy Ranes though.
• May not be our Lucy, but this is an interesting piece.  Probably not her, since McCoy seemingly would be her maiden name, not a previous marriage.  Also, a note elsewhere indicated that Lucy's mother was of the Hatfields & McCoys clan... thus her mother's name must have been McCoy... thus Lucy was a McCoy, not married to a McCoy.
