Btw, here's a great link to a 2-volume publication with 1700 pages & 1000 photographs. Well worth the slow download time.
Claibon Bowles? (who owned slaves, btw)
Nathan Anderson Bowles (1803 and Francis (Frances?) Matthews (1804)... who married in 1825. Family photos here... potentially including my grandma Pauline (Bowles) as a child in the family photo. (additional info indicating Nathan remarried... to Dorothy Worthington More related & interesting notes)

Presumbably this AmericaJane was so named in honor of her aunt America Jane Nichols who died early in life.

- Will Alan Bowles (*per Grandma Cox's records) -- Could this be the William Allen Bowles (3/8/1859) mentioned over here in this McCOY page... married to Millie Ann McCoy (saved pdf copy) (and copy of Ale Hatfield page) and buried in Bowles Cemetery on Vernon School Road? (date of death disputed here... as 1944). Will Alan was a beekeeper (per my dad)... and made caskets. There's a picture in Jon Huffman's book of Will Alan with his bees. (...Neil)

(photo))? And here's a photo of Mollie Belle Bowles Mauk McCoy. And here's a page of their descendants, etc. and Mollie's death certificate showing as daughter of Thomas & Alabama Bowles. [Not sure how Elvin Dean Mauk, the artist... dad's cousin from Ogden... fits in. But his mother was a Piercy who was a good friend of my grandma Cox... may even have been involved in grandma's wedding.]
- John Willis Bowles (Dec12, 1869, died 1927) (mentioned here) (and here) married Janie Bell/Belle Maggard (1878)... daughter of G.H. Maggard (6/27/1854) and Milissa D. Johnson (9/11/1855). One of Janie's brothers... Clarence... here's a death certificate showing Janie as the 'informant'.
